My name is Seona Chalana, and I joined IACS as a YB advisor and YLP administrator in September 2025.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Education from UW and a Master’s in Teaching from Seattle University.
I’ve spent the last 3 years teaching middle school in South Seattle.

Jeffrey Schmidt is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and current Master’s in Social Work student.
He has worked with disabled veterans and received both the Washington State Civilian Medal of Honor
and the Carnegie Medal for Heroism.

I joined YA this year because I wanted to step up from YC and advocate for a topic I wanted. Youth Advocacy My name is Dishani Akash and I am in 11th grade. This is my first year in IACS and being a part of YA. In my free time, I love painting and making sketches of simple things around me. Other than I love to binge watch Bollywood movies and reading books. I joined YA because I want to enhance my skills on socializing and communication which will not only help me build confidence, but encourages me to make good friendships around me. I am currently in Human Resources and excited to work on the topic more and learn how it benefits and needed in the world. Along side that I am really looking forward to advocate on mental health, because I want to find ways and provide ways which would help change the world little by little, if they know certain causes of why the human brain works in its way and how to keep it healthy for future.
